The Ultimate list of twin baby registry must-haves. These are the products that I found to be 100% necessary and very useful as a twin mama!
I will be the first to admit when I found out I was pregnant with twins- I was TERRIFIED and overwhelming excited but mostly terrified! How does a person even get out of the house with two in tow, or feed two babies, change two babies (100 times a day), grocery shop with two babies? The list went on and on, plus I have a toddler as well.
But two things got me through that terrifying feeling:
1. The twin mama community is the most supportive community of women in the world, I’m sure of it. The SECOND that I announced that I was having twins not only did I get a flood of encouraging messages but I also got loads of amazing advice and honestly just 100 different shoulders to cry on if I needed it. Now that I have twins I totally get why the twin mama community is so amazing, having twins is the hardest, the most incredibly large amount of stressful work I have ever done in my life but it’s also the most amazing blessing I have ever received. I just truly wish everyone had twins if you have twins then CONGRATS!! You are a very blessed mama and I am SO EXCITED for you!
2. There are so many new products out there in the baby world that make having twins much much easier nowadays then it used to be. YOU GOT THIS!
Now for the good stuff, my ultimate list of TRIED and TRUE products that have truly helped me survived twin mama life!
1. A stroller travel system
Make sure the stroller system you get lets you clip the car seats right into the stroller like the UPPAbaby Vista. That way you can get in and out of the car quick and easy! I honestly don’t know how I would ever go anywhere by myself without our UPPAbaby stroller system. This stroller also has an option to let your toddler ride so you can get around with 3 in tow!
2. Chicco Fit2 car seats
We love our Chicco Fit2 car seats because they grow with your baby way longer than any other car seat does and it makes it easier to keep your toddler rear-facing till two because it has adjustable extended legroom. When you’re buying for two it can get pricy so the longer you can make these items work the better!
3. Twin Z Pillow
If I had to pick ONE product that I’ve used the very most as a twin mama it’s this pillow! I use it every single time I feed the twins, so at least 4-5 times a day since they were born. It props them upright for proper digestion and holds them perfectly! If you are tandem breastfeeding then you can also use it as a breastfeeding pillow. We LOVE this thing!
4. Chicco Quick Seat Hook On Chair
This chair is a lifesaver! If you’re like me and two highchairs in your kitchen feels really crammed, then these chairs are a must! Plus they are very quick to install and take down. We take them to restaurants, on vacation, etc. They are extremely affordable as well- especially for how quality they are!
5. Hands free bottles
Sometimes you just need a free hand when feeding two babies, especially when you have other kids! These hands-free bottles are SO nice! You could prop the babies bottles up with blankets and we do do that sometimes but it’s not ideal.
6. Weego Twin Baby Carrier
We used this carrier more times than I can even count! I love that I was able to have both of the babies in front of me so I could have easy access to them! Also, you can totally put this carrier on by yourself.
7. Rocker with Ottoman
I love this glider from DaVinci! The reason I say you need one with an ottoman is because there were so many times I breastfed one baby and put the other one on a boppy or in the Dockatot and bottle-fed them or just placed them there right by me! Having an ottoman came in handy more times than I can count!
8. Happy Sleep Habits, Happy Twins
This book is the reason my twins slept through the night starting around 3 months old. It was a literal lifesaver! We used Happy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby with our first and then when we found out that we were having twins we got this book and followed it to the T! I couldn’t recommend this book more.
9. Baby Rockers/Gliders
We had a 4moms rockaroo with our first and loved it so much that we decided to get another one so that each twin could have one. I’m SO GLAD we did!! They have spent a ton of time in their rockers and we love the 4moms rockers- so do the babies! We had a set of rockers for upstairs and then a cheaper set for downstairs so we didn’t have to move them from floor to floor. It was really nice to have two sets but in my opinion, not 100% necessary if you are trying to save some money!
10. Mory June Moses Bag
We love our Mory June Moses bags because you can carry the babies around safely in them and it holds them nice and snug but it’s way comfier for them than their car seats are! Not to mention that it’s about 10 lbs lighter the typical car seat. It also has tons of compartments and a changing pad so you can use it in place of your diaper bag! Use code “WHITJ10” for 10% off your Mory June Bag!
11. HALO Sleep Sack swaddles
Both of my babies love their HALO sleep swaddles! But they like different ones haha. Addie needs to sleep with her hands up by her face so we use the Hands up self-soothing swaddle for her and she LOVES it. Ezra loves his hands crossed over his tummy so we use the 3-Way Swaddle with him and he loves that. Both of these things are crucial to getting them to sleep through the night as well as a good white noise machine!
12. Owlet
The Owlet is the only thing on the market that gives you peace of mind. It monitors your baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels all night long and you can check the levels in their app whenever you want. It alerts you if your baby’s hear rate falls outside the recommended range. I LOVE this thing. I would pay $1,000 for the peace of mind that the Owlet gives me.
13. HALO double bassinet twin sleeper
This twin sleeper is BOMB for those first few months (or longer if you prefer) home from the hospital! It is a bedside sleeper that separates the two babies and can adjust up, down, side to side, and move anywhere you want it with ease! It’s the nicest thing to have for all those night feedings and I love that each baby gets their own “bed”.
14. Shopping cart hammocks
Carting two babies around the grocery store can be challenging and take up a lot of space! I LOVE these shopping cart hammocks for when your babies are a born-a few months old and once they are sitting up, the Buggy Bench shopping cart seat is the PERFECT option!
15. Dockatot
We LOVED our Dockatot once we transitioned the babies into their own room with their own cribs. It was an absolute lifesaver! You can also get a toy arch to attach to the Dockatot that we use all the time with the twins to entertain them!
There you have it! These are all items I feel like I couldn’t live without when it comes to my twins- especially in the first few months. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments :).
