November 24, 2017 by whitjxoxo

The most wonderful time of year is officially here and Disneyland is gearing up for the celebration! The Holidays at Disneyland Resort started on November 10, 2017 and goes until January 7, 2018. Here are five tips and tricks to help you learn everything you need to know about Disneyland during the holidays so you can enjoy your vacation to the Merriest Place on Earth!

To get the best price on your Disneyland vacation, I recommend booking through Get Away Today. Their travel experts will find you the best price, guaranteed, no matter what time of year you travel. They offer discount Disneyland tickets and hotel stays that will not only save you money, but give you the best experience for your vacation. You can even use promo code BBBudget and save an additional $10 off your vacation package.

  1. Off-Peak Holiday Season

The Holidays at Disneyland Resort is a popular time of year to visit and there is no surprise as to why. Since the holiday celebration lasts for almost two months, you can travel during off-peak times. By doing this, you can still join in on all of the festivities, without having to wait in long lines. Because of this, I would recommend traveling during the month of November, beginning of December, the first week of January or whenever school is in session to avoid large crowds. If your child can afford to miss a day or two of school, you will not only see shorter lines, but you can typically get a lower price on hotels as well.

  1. Parades & Entertainment

One of my favorite parts about being at Disneyland is watching all of the exciting entertainment they have available for guests. During the Holidays at Disneyland Resort, they have exclusive shows and parades that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit. Some of these exclusive shows include World of Color – Season of Light, Believe… in Holiday Magic! Fireworks and A Christmas Fantasy Parade. Each of these festive shows includes the Disney magic we all know and love, with a touch of holiday enchantment.

Because there are more guests than usual during this time of year, I would recommend getting a seat at least an hour before these shows start. That way, you will have the best viewing experience and won’t miss a thing. However, this can also be a perfect time to go ride your favorite attractions. Because everyone is enjoying the parade, you can enjoy the rides with shorter lines. Whatever you choose to do, you are sure to have a wonderful time!

  1. Ride Overlays & Decorations

The jolly décor and cheerful ride overlays are one of the main reasons to visit during the most wonderful time of the year. From the enormous Christmas Tree on Main Street, U.S.A. to garlands embellished on Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, there are so many festive spots to grab a photo and remember your holiday vacation forever.

You can also experience ride overlays on fan favorites such as The Haunted Mansion, “it’s a small world” Holiday and the Jingle Cruise. The ride overlays at Disneyland take some of the most cherished attractions and give them a holiday twist. Everyone in your family will be sure to enjoy these exclusive holiday overlays!

  1. Holiday Treats

Whenever I travel to Disneyland, my sweet tooth cravings are at an all-time high and the holidays are no exception.  Since the Holidays at Disneyland Resort is a limited time event, I would recommend treating yourself to as many as possible. Some of the exclusive sweets they have available for guests include Peppermint Stick Ice Cream, Eggnog and even handmade Candy Canes. You can even catch the Festive Foods Marketplace at the Disney Festival of Holidays in California Adventure Park to feast on even more delectable treats. Here, you can sample delicious holiday foods, sweets and beverages from all over the world.

5. Take Advantage of FastPass and MaxPass

Because the Holidays at Disneyland Resort can be popular, this is the perfect time to utilize either Disney’s FastPass or MaxPass system. While the FastPass feature is included in every Disneyland admission ticket, you can now utilize Disney’s MaxPass. For $10 per-person, per-day, you can reserve your FastPasses through the Disneyland Resort app. With MaxPass, you can also get unlimited PhotoPass downloads for the day you purchase it. You don’t have to use this feature every day, so I would recommend splurging on it once or twice, depending on how busy it is.
