As I’m sure you know by now, I LOVE living my life on a budget but I also love being trendy and sometimes those things seem like they get in the way of each other but I’m here to tell you that they don’t have to! You absolutely can revive your home decor to make it more trendy without spending hundreds of dollars and I’m going to show you how!
How to revive your home decor on a budget:
1. Change out your pillows and blankets- It’s absolutely shocking how much of a difference switching out just a simple pillow or blanket can do. I love to change my decor not only the trends but with the seasons as well! You can see in the pictures below that the picture taken with the pink blanket was taken in the summer time. I had a lighter more “summery” feel for that time of year! Then when fall came I wanted to liven up my decor to make it look more like fall so I grabbed this gorgeous (and ultra comfy) navy plush blanket from Shopko, added in some trendy decorative pillows and viola! I completely revived my space for under $50!
2. Add in small and inexpensive decor items- It is amazing how much small items like a candle or picture frame can do to change up your decor! I added in a yummy fall candle to my decor and it made my space feel so much more cozy and trendy. Not to mention that it smells delicious! I’m a big fan of Bath and Body Works candles but they are so expensive I have been trying to find alternatives. These candles from Shopko are packed full of fragrance and absolutely compare to the Bath and Body Works ones but they range from $7.99-$9.99! That’s an amazing price for the quality of candle this is! Plus, they just got all of their Christmas candles in so if you’re like me and are all ready to decorate for Christmas, you might want to check them out :).
3. Be patient and shop around- I mentioned this in my Modern Farmhouse on a Budget post but it is worth mentioning again, when it comes to switching your home decor around it takes time- especially when you’re on a budget! Wait for those awesome Labor Day and Black Friday deals (or if you shop at Shopko they have amazing deals just for the heck of it) and be patient until you find what you are looking for. Also, don’t be afraid to shop around! Don’t just go to the normal place you always shop at and pick from whatever selection they have. Branch out and see what other stores might offer you! Shopko just launched some gorgeous new brands, especially in home decor so if you haven’t been there in a while, you might want to check it out!
You can save even more because if you click here and sign up of their email list, you can get $10 off when you spend $30. PLUS you can get free shipping when you spend over $99 with code SHIP99!

Like those candle centerpieces for tables. Thank you for sharing your ideas. I am looking to do some Christmas decor on budget, I have already spent a lot on clothing items and groceries, you know that holidays are busy and expensive always, Now i am wondering if there could be a way to save something on Christmas accessories. Ideas like you have shared can help many homeowners like us who do not have huge budget for renovation and decoration.
