Alright guys, I am just getting REALLLL honest with you here and I’m going to spill my overloading pot of postpartum weight loss beans all over the place with you right now. So here’s my story: I had a really healthy pregnancy as far as weight and fitness goes. I worked out up until the day (and even one day after) my water broke…its a great story (sense the sarcasm? I was an idiot), you can read more about that here and made sure to eat pretty healthy the whole pregnancy as well. I gained 25 lbs during my pregnancy and after I had Evie lost 15 of those lbs within a week.
I was obviously really happy about this but I had so many people complimenting how I was looking after having her and with only 10 lbs of postpartum weight to go…I think it kind of went to my head? hahaha needless to say the holidays hit (along with an awfully cold winter) and I settled into habits that weren’t very good for my health and fitness goals! I was still working out but not that well and I just plain wasn’t eating what I should have been eating. I gained 10 lbs! Leaving me on Jan. 1 with 20 lbs to lose to get to get to my pre baby weight.
Well needless to say I was bummed. I KNOW that that dang scale is just a number and doesn’t define me in the slightest! But I like to be healthy, it helps me to feel my best and fulfill my goals as a wife and mother. So I set out to lose that weight! I tried a bunch of different diet plans and just haven’t been able to shake it. I did the Whole 30 diet for the month of April and lost 10 lbs. It was awesome! I loved the way I felt and how much energy I had. But the diet is just not sustainable (for me) long term. See…. I have a big sweet tooth and I need a cheat day once a week! So I needed to find a plan that would fit in with my lifestyle and my sweet tooth needs!
I have gone up 5 lbs since I did Whole 30 and I now have a solid (nagging) 15 lbs to lose. A couple weeks ago I sat down with my cute hubs and talked about why this has been so hard for me. What is my biggest downfall? We came to the conclusion that I have the biggest struggle keeping my eating under control (thank you sweet tooth). Thanks to my favorite Mommy Trainer workout plan I am able to workout well and it helps a lot but I’m not hitting my goals primarily because of my eating! So… I am going to try something I have never tried before and see if it can get these last 15 lbs of postpartum weight off!
So….. (drumroll please) I am going to try the Medifast Go program and I’m THRILLED to see my results! I’ve done my research on this program and here are some of my favorite things that I’ve learned:
- Medifast is doctor developed to deliver fast, effective weight loss while providing the nutrition and protein you need to maintain lean muscle mass.
- You get to eat six times daily (yaaassss!), once every two to three hours- no starving yourself! I am a big fan of that.
- Choose from over 65 delicious options
- Have the flexibility to make your own favorite lean and green meals. I LOVE that this is easily adaptable for meals with your family. If you’re worried about dinner time and not having to make 5 different meals- worry no longer! Unless you have toddlers then…yeah you’ll still make 5 different meals hahaha.
I am really excited to see what this program does for my weight loss. I love how convenient it is and how adaptable it is for on the go! I just simply don’t have time to make every single one of my meals #momlife.
Want to try the Medifast Go program too? I would LOVE some diet buddies! Medifast is offering 7 Days of Free Medifast Meals + bonus gifts + free shipping on your first order as part of your renewal plan. That’s a killer deal! And one that you just might not see again. Sign up here :).

I’ve been on this same rollercoaster for more than 4 years! I totally feel you. In my three pregnancies I gained 18, 13 and 20 pounds and got the weight off so fast, but then went right back to the bad eating habits I picked up while I was pregnant. I have the hardest time watching what I eat. I had my third baby a couple weeks ago and I’m only 3 pounds from my pre-baby weight, but my body composition is so different now. The things we do to get these little ones!

Blair,
Oh my goodness, your comment just hit so close to home!! I absolutely applaud you for getting 3 lbs. from pre baby weight in a couple weeks AND with two other kids! You are AMAZING!! Holy cow! And seriously, if only these cute little ones knew what our bodies went through to get them here and then KEEP them healthy afterwards!! Everyone always said it was so hard not to gain too much while pregnant but no one warned me how DANG hard it would be afterwards! haha what the heck! Thank you SO much for your comment!!
