AJ and I went to Disneyland two years ago at the end of September and it was by far our favorite time that we have ever gone!
Halloween Time in Disneyland is the place to be this fall and let me tell you why. First of all, you can get a “screaming” good deal through my friends over at Get Away Today (see what I did there?). They seriously have the best prices on Disneyland packages, including discount Disneyland tickets. They are my go-to travel provider- they’re not only trustworthy but they know and love all things Disney.
You can even use promo code BBBudget and get an additional $10 off your Disneyland package – talk about magical!
Like I said before, Disneyland really is the place to be this fall. It’s one of the least crowded times of the year (you can read about the other least crowded times to go here) and Halloween Time is going to be more spook-tacular than ever before! Not only will Disneyland be filled with festive flare but Disney California Adventure Park will be as well.
Here’s what you CAN’T miss when you go to Disneyland during the Halloween season!
Halloween Time Overlays:
Let me give you the details of what you can expect. First, you will still experience the magic of previous years with your favorite holiday ride overlays, Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday in Disneyland Park. But now, you can also hop on Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, turned Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree or Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, normally known as Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters in Disney California Adventure Park. There is so much fun to come and the ride overlays are only the beginning.
Halloween Time Décor:
After riding all of your favorite attractions, including the holiday overlay rides in Disneyland and California Adventure, head over to Main Street, U.S.A.. Here you can snap a photo in front of the biggest (and cutest) Mickey Mouse pumpkin ever! Then take a stroll over to Dias de Los Muertos in Frontierland. After that, check out the spooky greeting you’ll get from Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas as you enter California Adventure. You’ll see bats circling around Carthay Circle Theater and a Headless Horseman statue on Buena Vista Street –yet another great photo op. Radiator Springs will also transform into Radiator Screams, making Cars Land a boo-tiful sight to behold!
Halloween Time Treats:
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any sweeter, they do – literally. The seasonal sweets at Disneyland are to die for and will have your taste buds soaring with every bite. Try things like a melt-in-your-mouth butterscotch beignet, scrumptious pumpkin churro or candy-dipped apple, just to name a few. If you’re craving something heartier, try their spicy blackened chicken sandwich or their anti-vampire chicken pizza. No matter what you get, it’s sure to be a treat.
Halloween Time Fun:
Another Disneyland “treat” are the shows and parades. To watch the exclusive Halloween Screams Fireworks or the Frightfully Fun Parade, make sure to purchase a separate ticket for Mickey’s Halloween Party. This event also includes trick-or-treating and awesome photo ops with the villains. You and your little ones will get stocked up with candy or healthy snacks – your choice – and your whole family can even dress up in costumes!
Make sure to follow the costume guidelines on Disneyland’s website for safety. If you’re not going to the party, no worries! You can have your own party in Disney California Adventure. Make sure to have a Park Hopper ticket or use your 1-Park Per Day ticket for DCA that day, because Disneyland will close early to the general public when Mickey’s Halloween Party starts.
Disneyland during Halloween time really is a totally new and amazing experience!! I love it! Book your Disneyland package through Get Away Today online at getawaytoday.com.

I love Disneyland! I’m hoping to take my kids soon, we probably wouldn’t make it this fall, but I think that would be the perfect time to go!
