On June 28th my Evie girl turned one and it was it nearly broke my heart in two. Something you might not know about me is that I’m extremely sentimental. I have a really hard time with change and if I let myself, would never get rid of any movie stub my hubs and I collect over the years….EVER (instead we opted for keeping them for a year, taking a picture of them all at the end of the year and then throwing them away….a great compromise for my sentiment heart!). So you can imagine that having to finally acknowledge that my baby is already one was really hard. But with a lot of pep talks from the hubs, I made it through and I will be okay…for another year. When she turns two, I have no idea what I’m going to do! haha.
Ever since Evie was born, I have been jotting down little snippets of some of my favorite moments with my girl. So in honor of her on her special day I read through some of them. Here is what one of them from back in October said, she would have been exactly 4 months old.
“10/28/16- 5:21 am
4 month sleep regression is real! Evie girl has been waking up two-three times a night for two weeks now. I was feeling ungrateful for the fact that I was getting what seemed like less and less sleep every day…but then tonight happened. Evie girl was extra happy to see her mama walk through that door to feed her, she squealed and threw down her feet like I’ve never seen. Then she ate like an angel, making my life so easy, then when she was ready to be burped she looked up and me and just SMILED like I’ve never seen before. She chatted away, telling mama all about her dreams. By the time she was done eating I was feeling like the worlds LUCKIEST mama, because I am. I was able to hold her for extra long tonight, her a chubby cheek pressed up against mine and as I rocked her. I can still feel it on my skin as I type this I didn’t want to put her down. Man, I love this girl with all that I have. ”
Pretty much every entry is like this. Just me talking about how much I love this little girl. She is all I could ever have hoped for in life (well, her AND her daddy that is). She has fulfilled my dreams, helped me create new ones, and taught me way more in one year than I ever could have taught her in her life time. She is also so in tune with people’s feelings. Sometimes I feel like she knows exactly when we need a hug, a kiss, or a sweet little Evie girl giggle. She is so playful, she loves to tease and play “BA!” (her version of “peek-a-boo”) with daddy and I! As I look at her every day, I really wonder how I ever lived my life without my little best friend. Evie girl, your mama loves you more than you will EVER know! Happy First Birthday, sweet baby girl!
Now on to the details of her First Birthday party bash! I didn’t have a theme for her party, I will talk about why I didn’t have one in a post next week :).
So many of the amazing people who came to party with Evie girl on her special day! I love them all so much.
Photographer- Charli Ayrton
I absolutely can not say enough great things about her. She was extremely professional, but also fun and made my whole family feel comfortable! She was able to capture little details of the party and memories I will cherish forever. She has a very clean, gorgeous photography style and she got the pictures back to me in record time! Visit her website for pricing and other information.
Cake and Cookies- The Chocolate
Without a doubt the MOST delicious cake and cookies me or my family has ever had. Everyone raved over the desserts and we are a dessert family so we know what we’re talking about. I crave their lemon raspberry cake on a weekly basis. That is not a joke.
Food- Catered from Fire and Slice Pizza
By FAR the most delicious pizza me or my family has ever tasted. The homemade crust was the the perfect balance of doughy and crispy. The pizzas were fresh and flavorful. Not to mention they have several different appetizer and pizza options to choose from! If you don’t find something on their menu that you love then they will specialty make something for you! I crave their pizza daily now… which is such a bad thing!
Decorative Doors, tables, and cake stands- Blissful Charm Rentals
If you are in Utah then Blissful Charm Rentals is the solution to all of your party needs, especially if you’re on a budget! You can rent TONS of cute party decor from them for cheap. They have tables, chairs, cake stands, decorative doors (like the ones pictured), the list goes on and on and on! I can’t imagine how much it would have cost me if I would have had to buy all of these items on my own.
Party Decor- My Paper Crush
I have never in my life found a cuter party supply store. If you’re local, My Paper Crush is located in Lehi, UT so you can see all the cuteness in person! But if you’re not local, no worries! They still have an online store that is AWESOME and has all of the inventory that is also located in store! They have plates, cups, and cutlery too. A one stop shop for everyone you need to have a killer cool party!
Felt Flower Garland- Treasured Peach
I honestly can NOT say enough good things about Treasured Peach, their items are TOP quality and absolutely adorable! She makes felt flower headbands, felt flower crowns, felt flower chandeliers, felt flower garlands and more. I could go on and on and on about how much I love this shop! I have to limit myself, otherwise I would go bankrupted buying things from there!
1-12 Number and corresponding picture banner
I made this with a simple pre-made white banner from Amazon and gold sparkle letters that also found on Amazon. I took the other half of the banner papers and glued Evie’s monthly pictures on each page. Then to hang, I just lined up the month with the corresponding number! Easy peasy.
Flower Crown Station
In a few days I will have a tutorial on how I made these SUPER QUICK & EASY flower crowns along with a free printable. So stay tuned for that!
Dirty Diet Coke Stand
Because dirty diet coke’s are pretty much my favorite thing ever, I just had to have them at Evie girl’s party! I got coconut syrup from Harmons, but you can also find it here then I purchased the pumps for the coconut syrup here. I got limes from the store and pebble ice (yes, that amazingly yummy ice that’s fun to chew) from Sonic, they sell 10 lb bags for less than $3! Voila! Unlimited Dirty Diet Coke’s at your service!
