I’m so excited to be participating in the A Thankful Heart series blog link up. Each Sunday in November I will be posting about things that I am thankful for. I know that at times I am guilty of becoming complacent and ungrateful so November is such a great time to be able to put things into perspective and really realize just how blessed I am! Here are the first four things on my thankful list:
1. My hubs
This man is my rock. I am not about to pretend that our marriage has been perfect. We have been married almost five years (what??) and it’s been the hardest five years of both of our lives. But with him by my side, I KNOW that no matter what life throws at us we can get through (laughing our butts off most likely). He makes me me, and I am so much better of a person with him in my life.
2. My Religion
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Everything good that has happened to me in my life is because of my religion. This temple is the Salt Lake City Temple, it means so much to me, not only because it’s gorgeous but because it’s the temple that I got married to my husband in. In my religion we believe that if you get married under the proper ordinances you will be sealed to your family for time and ALL eternity, never to part. Each day that I look at my hubs and thank my Heavenly Father for him, I am reminded of how thankful I am that no matter what, I never have to say goodbye to him forever. When we are able to have our own little family, I know that I will be even more grateful for this amazing blessing. 3. My family
This is just a pic of my sisters, mom, and I at Halloween. I don’t have a good one of the whole fam :).
I am blessed to have such a wonderful family and of course that includes my in-laws. I don’t even like calling my in-laws my in-laws because it makes me feel so separate from them, when actually I couldn’t feel closer. I was so fortunate to grow up with parents who truly loved me with all of their heart. Everything they did was always for my good and I am so grateful for their example to me. My family and my in-laws are the most supportive set of people on this planet. I seriously feel a constant outpouring of love and acceptance from them no matter what! Even when I do something dumb…which lets be honest, happens more often than not.
4. My job
I feel so blessed that I have a job that I truly LOVE. I am a 4th grade teacher and those kids are my world. I look forward to seeing them each and every day. I started to teach so that I could have an impact on children in a positive way, maybe make their lives better. Little did I know, these kids were going to teach me so much more about life than I ever could teach them.
