Date night is taken very seriously in my house and I don’t know about you, but I am usually running from work to get home and get ready in time for a fun night out with the hubs. I don’t have time to primp or plan.
Because I know I’m not the only one with this problem, this post will show you how to accomplish my date night ready look in under ten minutes along with my purse essentials that I don’t leave house without, especially on date night. I’m also showing you how to create the easiest, cutest, and most effective purse organizer to save room in that purse of yours so you can easier smuggle treats into the movie theater…am I right?
First, my under ten minute date night ready look. The before picture is literally how I look when I get home from work…terrifying, I know! The first set of steps is for makeup only, the next is for hair.
Step 1 &2 : Foundation // Step 3: Foundation powder // Step 4: Eyeliner // Step 5: Bronzer and Blush facial contouring (if you don’t know how to contour check out my tutorials section for quick videos on how to contour…easy peasy. It’s also in my princess makeup video!) // Step 6: ChapStick Total Hydration before my lipstick, makes your lips happy, creates a smooth glide to get your lipstick on, and helps your lipstick not peel off! // Step 7: Lipstick
My hair was in a side braid all day at work. I like to do that when I know I’m going out that night because it creates an pretty wave that’s easy to work with.
Step 1 and 2: Dry Shampoo that hair! Lifting up sections of your hair one at a time to spray under. // Step 3: Curl about four sections of your hair, I usually do two on top and two on bottom in the front (1.5″ barrel). // Step 4: Brush and vwolla! You’re done.
Now for my date night must haves. I chose these specific items because they each have a quality that I’ve needed more than once while on date night and it makes the biggest difference in our date night if I have them.
Nexium 24HR– Just take one of these babies a day and you have all-day, all night frequent heartburn protection. May take 1 to 4 days for full effect. Use as directed.
ChapStick Total Hydration– Literally moisturizes my lips all day. It’s 100% natural and has an advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rose hip oils.
Emergen-C– With over 20 varieties of vitamin supplement drink mixes, Emergen-C offers the formula, flavor, and the delicious factor. It’s packaging makes it perfect for on the go!
Advil Liqui-Gels– There’s nothing’s faster on tough pain (among OTC pain relievers). After a long day either my hubs or I always seem to be in some kind of pain, headache pain, muscle aches, you name it. Advil liquid gels gives us the fast relief we need to enjoy our night. Use as directed.
Centrum Vitamints– These are absolutely perfect for date night, they are refreshing and perfect to pop in your mouth right after a big meal (cheat meal anyone?), not to mention that you are getting vitamins in while simply freshening up your breath! Amazing.
All of these products were purchased at my trusty Walmart! You can find all of these items either online here or at the store in the pharmacy section like shown below.
As you can see, if I put all of these items in my bag it would take up a ton of room (leaving no room for my movie theater treats). Thats why I created the perfect purse organizer for all your date night needs! It took me under ten minutes (sub drying time) and under ten dollars to make.
Step 1: Get your Mini compartment box, I got mine from The Container Store at Fashion Place Mall but they also sell them online, it’s only $1.49 my friends! Cut the little tag off.// Step 2: Get Gold spray paint (or any color you want). I got mine from Walmart ($3.48). Be sure it’s one that will bond to plastic. I linked the exact one I got here. Spray only the outside of your container. Step 3: I got some little self stick accents ($2.50) and mini mirrors ($1 for 4) from Jo-Ann’s. // Step 4: I used a hot glue gun to stick the mirror in the center of the container. // Step 5: I stuck an accent on the front to jazz it up a bit. // Step 6: I labeled the bottom of my container with a sharpie so I knew which pills were which, just in case.
What are your date night essentials? Do you have a good way of keeping your bag organized? I would love to see!
