Are you a busy mom? Then you need to read this post all about my favorite list of non-traditional mommy-pick-me-ups that you will love!
Ever since I had the twins I have needed to make sure that I actually schedule in some “me” time. Even if it’s just 5 minutes to go to the bathroom alone- it has helped a ton with my mental health! Postpartum is a tricky time but making myself and my mental health a priority this time around has made my recovery so much better, even with twins.
But sometimes it’s fun to think outside the box and have a mommy pick-me-up that you have maybe never thought before! This post is full of just that!
1. New Skincare
Because taking care of my skin really does help me feel better! Lately, I’ve been absolutely loving Vichy’s Mineral 89 Eyes eye gel. My tired eyes have LOVED how hydrating this product helps them feel. Plus it is infused with cure Caffeine to help brighten and smooth fine lines around the eyes.

2. A New Pair of COMFY Shoes
I am the first to admit that I have bought shoes when I needed a pick me up but usually I resort to buying uncomfortable shoes that are yes, cute, but also not practical for a busy mom! I love these new Cushion Bounce Vista shoes from REEF. The high-density rubber sponge outsole that does all the heavy lifting for you and is truly ULTRA comfy. This shoe can also be dressed up or down and is such a cuter option than the typical flip flop!

3. New timeless jewelry
What a better way to brighten your spirits than with a new piece of gorgeous jewelry that you will wear for years and years and years to come? This necklace from Charles & Colvard made from Moissanite and the more I learn about this material the more I love it!
Moissanite is a naturally occurring white gemstone with unique optical properties that outsparkles all other. Even though it looks like it, It’s not a diamond simulant – or a diamond wannabe. It’s also made, not mined. Because it’s not mined, tremendous amounts of earth aren’t displaced, or water isn’t contaminated in the creation process. How cool is that??

4. New Hair Products
When my hair is looking and feeling good then I truly do feel better and ready to take on the day! Colleen Rothschild products have been a favorite of mine for years now. They are a bit of a splurge but I can tell a noticeable difference in my hair when I use these products. My favorites right now are the Quench & Shine Restorative Mask and the Smooth & Shine Hair Serum.
These products both help to smooth your hair, banish frizz, soften and detangle. Basically, by using the best ingredients on the market (like Kokum, Shea, Capuacu and Bacuri Butters and Cotton Seed Oil. Essential nutrients from Neem Oil and Hibiscus Oil), they make your hair feel the best it’s ever felt and it will look the best it’s ever looked too!

5. Take a bath- with chocolate!
This is probably my most used mommy pick me up! After the kids go to bed, I draw myself a bath, grab a piece of chocolate and enjoy it GUILT FREE. Sometimes this routine is the only thing that gets me through my week! I love to use these bath salts in my bath, I really feel a difference in how relaxed I feel when the bath is over when I use these!
I also asked what other mama’s favorite pick-me-ups were over on my Instagram and I got a lot of awesome responses! Here were some of my favorites:
- Any form of alone time
- A nice face mask, a hot bath, a late-night date on the porch with the hubs
- Talking to my mom. Works every time.
- Online shopping :). Getting that package in the mail is an instant pick me up!
- Stress away essential oil
- Baths, HIGH fitness, putting everyone in a stroller and going on a long walk. Sleep.
- A face mask. Disappearing to the gas station and getting Froyo with gummy bears and sprinkles
- A long hot shower while my husband watches the baby.
- A good drink, red wine (or if you don’t drink alcohol, like me, then Diet Coke usually doest the trick 🙂
What are your favorite mommy pick-me-ups? I would love to hear in the comments!
