When we found out we were having boy and girl twins it was definitely a dream come true (even though I’m terrified haha). But something I have had the hardest time finding inspiration for was their nursery! I wanted it to be gender neutral but also still unique to them, all while still looking like a nursery and of course, it had to be functional as well! It wasn’t easy but I finally figured out how to create a nursery for boy and girl twins that was still personalized and unique to them!
I looked and looked through Pinterest, asked my Instagram audience, came up with several different collages with my ideas and I finally found designs that I love!
This is MOSTLY the complete nursery reveal, I still have the back wall blank in these pictures because on that wall will be their names and I am not planning to announce those until they’re born in just a couple weeks! So check back here in a few weeks to see the back wall wallpaper and their names revealed!
Before I get into the details of their nursery, I will give you my #1 BEST tip to designing a nursery, or any room for that matter! Here goes:
Make a collage or a “vision board” of all of the times together before you make any purchases. I had an idea of the look I was going for but didn’t have any idea how it would all look together. So I screenshotted different items I was thinking about purchasing online and put it all together in a collage. You can see the collage below. Once I had that figured out, I decided I wanted wallpaper too so I added in wallpaper and you can see my final collage inspiration below also. It’s pretty similar to how the room turned out, wouldn’t you say?
Making a collage first will save you tons of headaches and spending time in the return line after an item comes that doesn’t quite fit in with the aesthetic of your room the way you thought it would!
Without further adieu, here’s the twins’ nursery! If you want to know where each item came from, you will find a description and direct link to purchase right below the picture.
